Scans are also used for post-traumatic injury evaluation and suspected aneurysm or stroke assessment.
The procedure is safe, uses only the necessary amount of radiation to deliver a diagnosis, and leaves the body within a few days.

If you need Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy, please ask your primary doctor for a referral. You will then bring the referral, your picture ID, and your insurance card to our Rehabilitation Department. We will work with your insurance company to get the authorization needed for you to receive therapy.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT & SERVICES


We are a Critical Access Hospital and a designated Level 4 Trauma Center serving a 70-mile radius by providing essential emergency services.
We diagnose and treat life-threatening illnesses and injuries and serve those who need immediate medical care. Our emergency providers have special training to provide advanced life-saving care, including trauma resuscitation, advanced cardiac life support, advanced airway management, and stabilization.

- a 25-member patient-oriented 911 EMS Service team, providing care for the residents of Sierra County.
- a talented, outstanding team that is committed to responding to the changing needs of our expansive service area.
- recognized as a leader in innovative, cost-effective, clinically sophisticated delivery of comprehensive emergency medical services
- includes advanced life support personnel and every unit is ACLS/PALS/CPR/NRP certified.
- serves as a professional, technical extension of SVH medical services to Sierra County and surrounding areas.
- operates ambulances staffed with two (2) licensed EMS personnel 24/7.
- is one of the only Critical Care Ground Transports in the entire state
- assists both in the hospital and out in the field.
- staffs a 9-person Crisis Intervention Team, Swiftwater Rescue Team, and Technical Rescue Team.
